Empathy
Why is Empathy important?
Typically, we can attune ourselves to our emotions and what we are feeling. However, in the Dispatch world with callers screaming, yelling, crying, and dying on the phones with us. First Responders doing the same on the radio or in person. Our emotions can get the better of us. Controlling our emotions and showing empathy can allow you to put yourself in that individual’s shoes, metaphorically, and empathize. Empathy permits individuals to gain an in-depth understanding of the feelings of others this will calm them and allow them to get give information and for you to show a better side of our professionalism.
