Amphetamine is used in medications such as Adderall, Ritalin and Concerta. These prescription drugs are used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder.

Amphetamines are powerful stimulators of the central nervous system. Used under a doctor's care, these medications can be safe and effective.

Amphetamines or Methamphetamine's are commonly referred to as “Speed” which is a blanket term. Methamphetamine's are dangerous, highly addictive, and relatively easy to obtain.

The process of manufacturing methamphetamine is extremely dangerous, as it involves caustic, flammable, and potentially explosive ingredients.

During World War II, amphetamines were used extensively by both sides of the War for their stimulant and performance-enhancing effects, basically to keep the Soldiers awake. There were many cases of psychosis-type aggression in the soldiers.

During World War II, over 72 million amphetamine tablets were given to soldiers on both sides of the conflict to keep them alert and awake. The amphetamines also caused psychosis-like aggression in some soldiers. 

Amphetamines were made a class II controlled substance in the 1970’s under the Controlled Substance Act.
