Introduction to NCIC

NCIC and its files

NCIC can be dry material, but it is important for all dispatchers to be familiar with what it is and how it works. We can also provide the information in a handout format. Learn more about NCIC entries and using the system to best serve your agency.


This course offers a basic overview of the National Crime Information Center. Always refer to your NCIC manual for specific tasks to perform within the system. This course is also continuously updated with more information to continue to make it more comprehensive.
